Vernon Deines Award for Outstanding Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Youngsville, NC was chosen for first place, the Honor Award, and was presented at the National Planning Conference in Minneapolis, MN on April 15, 2024.
Youngsville Community! We are so excited to present you with 2050 Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan! This plan will guide future growth and conservation, and outline priorities for moving our community forward over the next 25 + years.
Volume 1 - Plan
Volume 1 is the main body of the CLUTP. It contains the Vision looking ahead to the year 2050 and guidance for future decision making about land use, transportation, housing, parks, and trails. Volume 1 includes:
- 2050 Vision Map & Five Vision Elements
- Future Land Use Plan
- Place Types
- Transportation Plan
- Street Typologies & Multimodal Connectors
- Roadmap to 2050 Implementation Plan
Volume 2 provides context, data, and background that informed recommendations in Volume 1. It includes historic context, demographic data, a summary of community input, and future growth projections. Volume 2 includes:
- History of Youngsville
- Demographics, Housing, Commuting Data
- Peer Communities Analysis
- Existing Conditions Mapping
- Population Projections
- Summary of Community Input
This plan was built from input from town leaders, community members, residents, business owners, and an advisory committee. It is a usable document that reflects many months of public engagement, participation, and boasts an overall town vision. The plan also may be reshaped and amended as needed.
